• Social media buzz in the crypto circle claims that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has confirmed an investment in Bitcoin mining.
  • Let’s get the facts straight by tracing the root cause of this discussion.

There’s ongoing social media buzz claiming that Nvidia will invest in Bitcoin (BTC) mining. This was triggered by several people, citing the mainstream media, who said that company CEO Jensen Huang has confirmed the matter.

Bitcoin Magazine’s Vivek Sen also added fuel to the narrative in a post on X. He claimed that the Nvidia boss indeed stated they are investing in Bitcoin mining companies.

The revelation sparked excitement in the crypto community, with many taking it as a serious validation from the $4.6 trillion tech giant. However, others pointed out that Sen should clarify whether the company is directly or indirectly investing in Bitcoin mining, as this would indicate its equity exposure in the venture, or whether it’s only supplying GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) for the compute requirements of the mining operations.

So far, the author has not answered that question.

Nvidia’s Confirmation of Investing in Bitcoin Mining

The information spread like wildfire after Huang’s keynote on AI (artificial intelligence) advancements at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2026 in Las Vegas this week. But then again, we couldn’t find any confirmation from Nvidia’s head honcho that they were investing in Bitcoin mining during his speech at the event. His note merely centered on the soaring demand for compute resources amid the rapid advancement of AI models and strong competition in the sector.

Additionally, people citing Bloomberg as their source have failed to provide any links to any official statements or interviews with Huang or any representative of the company. We also couldn’t find any report from the publication or other mainstream news sources verifying the info.

It’s worth noting, though, that Huang has touched on Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in his previous interviews in the past couple of years. One such instance was in 2018 when he boldly asserted, “Cryptocurrency and blockchain are here to stay.” His comments came as Jim Cramer, veteran trader and host of CNBC’s Mad Money, interviewed the CEO as the market began correlating Nvidia’s products with crypto.

Nvidia’s Partnerships with Bitcoin Mining Company

Nvidia currently has no existing direct corporate partnerships specifically focusing on Bitcoin mining. However, it does have a multi-year contract with Bitcoin miner IREN (formerly Iris Energy) in its capacity as a GPU supplier.

While we can’t entirely dismiss the possibility of the company eventually investing in Bitcoin mining, it’s safe to take the circulating narrative with a grain of salt for now and avoid investing in Nvidia’s stock solely based on such a detail without official confirmation from the company itself.
