My Lovely Planet (MLC), a Web3 game that aims to protect the Earth by making it greener, has gained recognition from Google Play. On Thursday, the team behind the mobile app announced that the tech giant chose it to be a part of its #WeArePlay campaign.
The program of Google celebrates the global community of app and game developers who contribute positively to the community. This marks the first time a Web3 game has been featured in its campaign.
My Lovely Planet Features
My Lovely Planet was the brainchild of Clément Le Bras, who used to work with nongovernmental organizations (NGO) in Cambodia. Witnessing the negative impact of deforestation in his journey, the engineer with a strong background in social enterprise decided to combine his passion for blockchain and gaming with his goal of saving the environment.
With a small team of 15 employees, Le Bras set up shop in Bordeaux, France, to establish Imagine Games. Following that, the startup created the Web3 game My Lovely Planet. The blockchain-based mobile game features engaging gameplay with play-to-earn (P2E) and play-to-plant mechanics.
My Lovely Planet showcases relaxing puzzles that reward players with MLC tokens. Holders can also trade the digital asset through centralized and decentralized exchanges like Gate, MEXC, and Uniswap. As of Thursday, MLC trades at an average of $0.33 with a market cap of over $23.3 million from its 70.60 million circulating supply.
Alternately, users can stake at least $100 worth of MLC to enable the conversion of the game’s diamond currency to MLC tokens.
Bringing a Positive Change Through Web3 Gaming
Beyond My Lovely Planet’s token lies a unique value proposition that caught the eye of Google. For every 100 levels each player completes, Imagine Games plants a real-world tree in protected areas. To date, the company has already planted over 370,000 trees through its partnerships with NGOs such as Graine de Vie in Madagascar.
Moreover, MLC, the utility token of My Lovely Planet, allows governance participation in the Web3 game’s ecosystem. From there, they can vote on real-world investments funded by its treasury. These include reforestation projects, carbon credit generation, and clean energy initiatives.
Where to Get the Game
My Lovely Planet is available for free in Google Play and Apple’s App Store. The app has over 50,000 downloads on Google Play with 25,000 monthly active players and mostly favorable reviews with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.
Overall, My Lovely Planet’s goal is to build a community of 100 million players to accelerate its plan to plant up to one billion trees.
